Setting up

How do I add my sauna?

Setup happens over Bluetooth and takes about two minutes. Have your Wi-Fi name and password ready.

  1. Open Thermae, sign in, and tap Your saunas, then Add a sauna.
  2. Stand next to the sauna with your phone. Make sure the sauna is plugged in and its control panel is lit.
  3. Press and hold the Power button on the sauna's panel for 10 seconds, until it beeps. This puts it in setup mode.
  4. Tap It beeped. Find my sauna. Searching can take up to 30 seconds. Tap your sauna when it appears.
  5. Choose your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, enter its password, and tap Connect sauna.
  6. The sauna joins your Wi-Fi and connects to the Thermae service, usually in under a minute. Give it a name, and you are done.

Allow Thermae to use Bluetooth when your phone asks. If the sauna does not appear, hold Power for 10 seconds again and retry.

2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz Wi-Fi: which do I need?

The sauna's Wi-Fi module only works on 2.4 GHz networks. Your phone can be on either band; only the sauna needs 2.4 GHz. The good news: almost every home router has a 2.4 GHz network, and it reaches farther through walls than 5 GHz, which helps for saunas in a garage or backyard.

  • Router with separate names (for example "Home" and "Home-5G"): pick the one without "5G" or "5GHz" in its name.
  • Router with one name for both bands (often called band steering or Smart Connect): this usually works as is. If setup fails, check your router's app or settings for an option to split the bands or turn on a 2.4 GHz network temporarily.
  • Mesh systems (eero, Google Nest Wifi, Orbi and similar): these usually work. Some have a setting to pause 5 GHz for a few minutes while a device joins.
  • Wi-Fi names and passwords are case-sensitive, and ones containing commas cannot be sent to the sauna.
Setup says the sauna didn't come online
  • Check the Wi-Fi name and password. They are case-sensitive.
  • Make sure you chose a 2.4 GHz network (see above).
  • Check that the sauna's room gets a good Wi-Fi signal. Try your phone's Wi-Fi standing inside the sauna; if it is weak, move the router closer or add a mesh point or extender.
  • Hold Power for 10 seconds again and tap Try again.

Using Thermae

My sauna isn't showing in the app, or shows as offline
  • Not in the list at all: make sure you are signed in with the same email you used to add it. Saunas belong to one account. If it was never added, or was removed, add it again from Your saunas, Add a sauna.
  • Shows as offline: check that the sauna has power (its panel is lit) and that your home internet is working. After a power cut or router restart, the sauna reconnects on its own within a few minutes.
  • Changed your Wi-Fi name or password, or replaced your router? The sauna cannot join the new network by itself. Run setup again: Add a sauna and follow the steps.
  • Used the manufacturer's app since? Running another app's setup moves the sauna away from Thermae. Run Thermae's setup again to bring it back.
  • On the app's main screen, "Can't reach the sauna service" means your phone has no internet connection, or our service is temporarily unavailable.
How do rituals and alerts work?

Rituals are schedules that preheat your sauna for you. Choose the days and time, the temperature and how long it runs, and the sauna turns on by itself, even if your phone is off. A ritual missed while the sauna was offline is skipped, not run late.

Alerts notify you when the sauna reaches a temperature you choose, or when it has been on for longer than a time you choose. They work however the session started: from the app, the sauna's own panel, or a ritual.

Before a ritual or remote start, make sure the sauna is safe to heat. See the safety section of our Terms of Use.

Why can't I set a higher temperature or a longer session?

Thermae caps the temperature at 176°F and sessions at 4 hours. These limits apply to every way of starting the sauna through Thermae, including rituals.

Can I control more than one sauna?

Yes. Add each one from Your saunas, Add a sauna, give it a name, and tap a sauna to switch to it. Tap Edit next to a sauna to rename it or remove it from your account.

Switching back

How do I go back to the manufacturer's app?

A sauna connects to one app's service at a time. To use the manufacturer's own app again (for example the Clearlight or Jacuzzi app), re-run that app's own Wi-Fi setup for the sauna, following its instructions. That points the sauna back to the manufacturer's service. Thermae does not change your sauna's firmware, so nothing else needs undoing.

Optionally, remove the sauna from Thermae too: Your saunas, Edit, then Remove. You can switch back to Thermae any time by adding the sauna again.

Remember to cancel your Thermae subscription in your App Store or Google Play settings if you no longer need it.

Your account

How do I delete my account?

In the app, open Your saunas, tap Delete account (below Sign out), enter your password and tap Delete. This permanently deletes your account and email address, removes your saunas from it, and erases their rituals and alerts. Your saunas keep working from their own control panels and can be added to another account later.

Deleting your account or the app does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

Can't sign in? Email support@bitmont.co from the address on your account and we will delete it for you. See the Privacy Policy for details.

I forgot my password

On the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password?, enter your email and tap Email me a code. Enter the code and a new password. The code expires after 15 minutes. For your security, resetting your password signs you out on every phone.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple or Google. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
